The AI search visibility tooling category emerged in 2024 and has matured rapidly. With AI Overviews on 30–48% of US queries (SE Ranking, 2025) and ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity capturing growing buyer-intent share, tools that can audit and track AI search performance have become as important as classical SEO tools were a decade ago.
We tested 11 tools in early 2026 across three jobs: (1) audit on-page signals for AI visibility, (2) track citation rate across AI engines for buyer-intent queries, (3) audit Google AI Overview citations specifically. Eight made the cut. None covers all three jobs perfectly — most teams use 2-3 tools in combination.
